Bonair Winery

We went to Bonair Winery with high hopes. In the photos on the web it looked cute, and the one wine I had tried previously had showed great promise. Things got off to a bad start when we realized how cheesy and faux Europe the site looked. We started off tasting that one again, the dry gewurztraminer. It's still good, but missing something. Next we both tried a rose of pinot noir. Maybe I expected it to have more pinot flavor because I was disappointed by it. I moved on to a cabernet franc/sauvignon blend. Good, but again unremarkable. I then tried a single vineyard cabernet. This was was remarkable. It had tons of acid and a good flavor. Not my cup of tea exactly, but it was the first and only wine I tasted there with character. Kathrine also tried their Sunset Blush. She found it peachy and sweet, but not worth buying. We left without a single purchase.
