Purchase Location: Bainbridge Island Vineyards - (http://www.bainbridgevineyards.com/)

Tasting Notes:

This is a simple off dry white wine. It's like a less floral gewurtraminer. Not necessarily my favorite, but a good match for sweeter Asian dishes.

Bainbridge Island Vineyards Pinot Gris

Vintage: 2006

Purchased: Sep 22nd 2007

Price: $20.07

Purchase Location: Bainbridge Island Vineyards - (http://www.bainbridgevineyards.com/)

Categories: Pinot Gris/Grigio - Washington - White

Tasting Notes:

Since thanksgiving is a local harvest festival, I decided to open two wines from this local winery, that also grows grapes locally. The pinot gris was the first one to be opened.

It was a pale color in the glass with a very pleasant pear and apple scent. The taste was the same as the scent with pear, apple, and melon. Just a touch of acidity and no sugar to speak of. It was actually fairly thick in the mouth and very pleasant.

Bainbridge Island Vineyards Pinot Noir

Vintage: 2002

Purchased: Sep 22nd 2007

Price: $21.16

Purchase Location: Bainbridge Island Vineyards - (http://www.bainbridgevineyards.com/)

Categories: Pinot Noir - Red - Washington

Tasting Notes:

This was the second Thanksgiving wine. It was an almost transparent deep ruby in the glass. A beautiful color, but you could tell it was going to be light bodied. I could pick up aromas of cherry, caramel, and cedar.

In the mouth the caramel was still there, but only slightly. The flavor was dominated by cranberry, cherry and plum. There was also a toastiness from the oak that was very yummy.
